In 1997… or, forever ago, depending on who’s reading this garbage. I took my first photography class as a sophomore in high school. In that darkroom was my first experience with the magic of light sensitive emulsions and chemistry. I shot my first B&W film and made my first prints. I was hooked.

Over the years I’ve stayed the course, working in the same(ish) industry. Graduated high school, went to “regular” college, got bored, packed my stuff and moved to Florida to go to film school.

In the early 2000’s film schools were still primarily teaching filmmaking using film cameras. I learned what I could, built all the cameras I could, loaded all the mags I could load, shot all the affordable film I could afford as a college kid. When I left, I worked for years on sets as a camera operator and DP, learning the craft of lighting and camera movement. I still work as a DP today when I’m not in the lab.

Fast forward. I run a film lab… I’m in the back of a warehouse stuffed full of odds and ends and forgotten dreams where I spend all of my waking hours developing & scanning your, hopes and dreams. It’s a little punk rock. It’s a little DIY. It’s a little badass!
